WEEK 4 BLOG POST

tips and tricks section of the Photoshop User Magazine is full of handy and usfull tips that will enhance your workflow, I will share in this blog post post some of the tricks I found useful.

Adding New Text in Photoshop

A common challenge in Photoshop is to add new text amidst existing layers. Picture this – you're crafting a composition with multiple text elements, and every time you try to introduce new words using the Type tool, Photoshop ends up selecting an existing, possibly hidden, text layer.

However, there's a neat trick to bypass this issue. Simply hold down the Shift key while clicking with the Type tool, and a new text layer each time wherever you click.

Filling Layers in Photoshop

To fill a layer or a selected area with the foreground color, Option-Delete on a Mac (or Alt-Backspace on a PC) does the trick. Need the background color instead? Command-Delete for Mac users, and Ctrl-Backspace for those on PCs, are your go-to shortcuts. But what if your layer is a delicate web of pixels and transparency? Fear not, adding the Shift key to these combinations (like Shift-Option-Delete on Mac or Shift-Alt-Backspace on PC) fills your desired area while preserving the transparency.
