Today's project involves creating and designing three graphs in Adobe Illustrator, a process that is both flexible and straightforward. The dataset for the first graph includes some redundancies, so it's crucial to verify the data before moving on to the design phase. I chose to work with column and pie charts for my graphs. For the design aspect, I decided to give the columns and the pie chart a 3D appearance using the revolve and extrude effects, respectively. I selected a gradient fill for the background and incorporated illustrations that align with the green energy theme, adjusting their opacity to blend seamlessly with the gradient and the overall design. Finally, I chose a color palette that enhances and conveys the theme of renewable and clean energy. Additionally, I gave the text "Living Green" a creative twist by slightly modifying the typeface and adding some graphical elements to transform it into a logo-like design.

Final Project : Self Portrait

The final project for the course involves creating a self-portrait using the mesh tool. Crafting a mesh that accurately follows complex shapes presents a significant challenge. However, with some adjustments and fine-tuning, I'm satisfied with the outcomes. I began by sketching the outlines and key features of the face, opting for a simplified approach to reduce the complexity of the shapes. I placed the facial features on a separate layer, making it easier to manage the overall gradient of the face. In terms of the gradient, I had to find balance between simplicity and keep sufficient detail. This project was a valuable exercise in balancing simplicity with complexity, allowing me to refine my skills in using the mesh tool while still capturing the essence of my portrait.

Final Logo Version

Nomad restaurant Logo The idea for this logo is rooted in tradition, simplicity, and modernity. Initially, my drafts had a more corporate feel, which led me to refine the concept. I decided to add a distinct touch by incorporating a small Tajine pot on top of the right serif of the letter "N", tweaking the height of the right stem to give the illusion of a hand holding the Tajine from beneath. This adaptation makes the logo more in tune with the restaurant's ethos and ensures it can seamlessly adapt to different contexts, media, and color schemes, thanks to its monochromatic design.
